Norfolk & Western Powhatan Arrow
O Scale Passenger Set by Golden Gate Depot
She’s back.
And yes… we made you wait for it. (Sorry!!!)
The Norfolk & Western Powhatan Arrow has earned a bit of a reputation around here. Ever since our last release, she’s been the train everyone asks about, the one that somehow stays just out of reach—mentioned in conversations, hinted at in photos, and always almost here. Consider this her official reappearance.
Prototype Background
Introduced in 1946, the Powhatan Arrow was the Norfolk & Western’s premier postwar passenger train, combining modern streamlined equipment with the railroad’s unmistakable Appalachian character. Known for its smooth ride, refined interiors, and striking maroon-and-gold presentation, the train quickly became a flagship—fast, elegant, and unmistakably N&W.
And like the real thing, it’s never been one to rush.
