The Private Varnish Series celebrates some of the most historic privately owned passenger cars still operating across North America today. Carefully preserved by dedicated owners, these rolling landmarks continue to travel the nation's rail network behind steam excursions, executive specials, and charter trains, keeping the golden age of passenger railroading alive for future generations.
Our inaugural release features two exceptional cars: the Cimarron River, a beautifully restored Frisco 14-4 sleeper owned by Tony and his brother Andy Marchiando, and the iconic Hollywood Beach, one of the surviving Silver Meteor Sun Lounge sleepers. Faithfully researched and expertly reproduced, the Private Varnish Series brings these celebrated pieces of living railroad history in their current restored states to O scale for the very first time.
