Golden Gate Depot Signature Series Lightweight Passenger Cars
Following World War II, lightweight passenger cars revolutionized rail travel with streamlined styling, improved comfort, and advanced construction. Built by industry leaders such as Budd, Pullman-Standard, and ACF, these cars became the hallmark of America's premier streamliners. From spacious coaches to versatile 10-5, 14-4, and innovative duplex sleepers, they defined first-class passenger service during the golden age of railroading.
The 10-5, Duplex, and lightweight cars are modeled after the "super continental" style lightweights that were used across multiple railroads manufactured by ACF. These are all smooth sided cars.
The 14-4 cars are modeled after the new haven 14-4 sleeper cars (and other converted variants), these cars will have fluted sides.
