Denver & Rio Grande Western L-132 2-8-8-2 (Road Numbers 3610–3619)
 
The D&RGW L-132 Class 2-8-8-2 marked the final and most refined generation of Rio Grande’s articulated steam power. Introduced shortly after the L-131s, these locomotives incorporated key improvements—enhanced counterbalancing, revised appliances, and subtle refinements that made them the ultimate mountain haulers on the Grande. Assigned to heavy freight service through the 1950s, the L-132s embodied the strength and endurance that defined Rio Grande steam.
 
We first produced these iconic locomotives in O Scale, where they were met with universal praise for their power and realism. Now, we’re proud to bring that same level of craftsmanship to HO Scale, a Lifetime Brass masterpiece worthy of the Grande name.
