Southern Pacific AC-9 “Yellowstone” 2-8-8-4
 
They say the third time’s the charm, and we couldn’t agree more. We’re proud to once again offer the legendary Southern Pacific AC-9 in HO Scale Lifetime Brass. Built by Lima in 1939, these twelve 2-8-8-4 “Yellowstones” (road numbers 3800–3811) were among the most distinctive articulated locomotives to ever serve the Southern Pacific.
 
Originally delivered as coal burners for service across New Mexico and Texas, all were later converted to oil, wearing both Southern Pacific Lines and Southern Pacific lettering during their remarkable careers. With their skyline casings, long tenders, and unmistakable SP styling, the AC-9s were a true statement of power and presence.
 
We’ve offered the AC-9 twice before in HO Scale, both times it became one of our most loved and talked-about releases. Now, for its third and final appearance, the AC-9 returns in Lifetime Brass, built with the same craftsmanship, precision, and attention to detail that made the earlier runs so special.
