Sunset Models 3rd Rail proudly reintroduces the Siemens Charger family to O Scale, featuring both the SC-44 and ALC-42 in an all-new production run. Since entering service in 2017, the Charger has become the premier North American passenger diesel locomotive, combining modern emissions technology, exceptional reliability, and striking contemporary styling. From state-supported Amtrak corridors to commuter agencies and VIA Rail's renewed passenger fleet, the Charger has become one of the defining locomotives of modern passenger railroading.

Building upon the success of our original release, this new production incorporates updated tooling, enhanced detailing, and the latest electronics while maintaining the smooth performance and scale accuracy Sunset Models is known for. We accept no deposits for these orders. Prices are subject to change without notice due to market conditions beyond our control. If you have any questions feel free to call us at 1-510-342-4389. If you fail to pickup items you reserve, we will no longer accept your reservations.

Our Procedure

When the product is due to arrive from the Factory we will send you a notice by mail giving you instructions on how to purchase your model and when the models are arriving. If you fail to purchase more than once your reservations will no longer be accepted. So only firm orders, please.
On all pre-orders, regardless of the manufacturer, we offer an easy and flexible payment plan.

If opting in, once the models go into production and we are expecting delivery within 6 months, you will be emailed a reminder and invoices will be sent out for the following 6 months at the cost of 1/6 of your total order.
