Frisco 1522, A Living Legend Comes to O Scale
 
Built in 1926 for the St. Louis–San Francisco Railway, Frisco No. 1522 is one of the most famous preserved steam locomotives in America. This powerful 4-8-2 “Mountain” type spent its working life hauling fast freight and passenger trains across the Frisco system before retiring in the early 1950s.
 
Saved for preservation in St. Louis, 1522 gained a second life in the late 1980s when it was fully restored to operation. For more than a decade it thrilled railfans across the Midwest, leading mainline excursions and proving that classic American steam could still command the rails.
 
Today, 1522 remains one of the most beloved steam locomotives of the modern era, a true railfan icon. Now, this living legend is finally coming to O Scale 2 and 3 Rail.
