In the 1920s The Virginian Railway Electrified over 100 miles of their Railway Line. The first electrics locomotives on the VGN RR were the triple unit VGN EL-3A. These Rod Driven boxcabs, built by ALCO in the mid 1920s. Combined this consist of Locomotives produced over 7000 horsepower.
